Museum of Applied and Decorative Arts (MAK)

Recommended
The MAK (Austrian Museum of Applied Arts) occupies a building along the Ring. The pre-eminence of its collections reflects Vienna's passion for decorative arts and modern design. Contemporary artists were entrusted with the task of designing the layout in some of the rooms: for example, the Baroque furniture was created by Donald Judd; the glass and lacework collection by Franz Graf; and the Empire and Biedermeier collection by Jenny Holzer. It also houses an outstanding collection of tapestries.
