George of Podebrady Square

Interesting
The old market square, now known as King George of Poděbrady Square, has several buildings with high, pointed roofs and two fountains; one bears the statue of Knight Roland, a champion of citizens' rights, and the other a statue of Hercules. The square is also home to a small cluster of buildings called the Spalícek, with characteristic narrow alleyways and half-timbered upper storeys. On the east side stands the Baroque town hall (Radnice) home to the Výtvarného Umění Gallery and its collection of 20C Czech art.
