Old City: Bethlehem Square

This small square, with its cafés and restaurants, takes its name from the Bethlehem Chapel, the dominant feature, with its imposing gables. At no 1 is the Náprstek Museum, housing an ethnographical collection of Asian, African and American cultures. A stone's throw away is Bartolomějská (Bartholomew Street), where the former Union House stands, the notorious headquarters of the Communist regime's security services. Next to this is the small Jesuit Church of St Bartholomew.
