Ordrupgård

Recommended
Some 18km from the centre, this impressive edifice shielded by beech trees was built by business man Wilhelm Hansen in 1918 to house his magnificent collection of 19-20C French and Danish art. In 1951 his property and collections were bequeathed to the state and the house was transformed into a museum. An extension with a handsome stone and glass façade, by architect Zaha Hadid, was inaugurated in 2005.
