Aarhus, on the east coast of Jutland, is Denmark's second largest city and has a triple vocation with its port, industry and university. In 2017 its selection as European Capital of Culture brought it into the limelight, revealing the little-known charms of this industrious yet astonishingly welcoming city, characterised by its contagious cultural vitality, which makes no bones about showing off its Viking and medieval heritage alongside its contemporary architecture.
