House of painter Pekka Halonen

Interesting
Pekka Halonen (1865-1933) had this imposing pine house built in 1902, with the help of his brother Antti. The workshop, dining room and kitchen were on the ground floor, the bedrooms upstairs. Halonen studied at Helsinki's Academy of Fine Arts, before continuing his training in Paris. His preferred subjects were nature and the Finnish. The studio has been turned into a museum, with several temporary exhibitions each year.
