Church of Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux

Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux Church is unusual because it is comprised of two churches, one Catholic, the other Protestant, separated by a wall since the 17C, but today demolished. The left transept of the Catholic church (rebuilt in 1866) is embellished with 16C wood panels carved by Veit Wagner, while the end of the chancel is decorated with scenes from the Passion (late 15C-early 16C) attributed to Strasbourg artist, Henri Lutzelman. The painted panels in the right transept are by the Schongauer School (15C).
