Colmar

Colmar
The Essential
Highly recommended
Whether explored on foot or from a boat along the canals of this "Little Venice", the fountains, half-timbered houses and geranium-decked balconies represent quintessential Alsace. However, Colmar is much more than its picture postcard decor. With the extension of the Unterlinden museum, entrusted to the Basle architects Herzog & de Meuron, the town is able to showcase its considerable heritage even more. Colmar is also renowned for its gastronomy and is the perfect base from which to explore the local wine route.

Little Venice, Unterlinden Museum, the House of heads, the tanning district, Bartholdi Museum, Pfister House – we could spend all day enumerating enchanting sites in the seat of the Haut Rhin département. But we have better to do – take you round, for example.
