Espace des Métiers du Bois et du Patrimoine
The first indication of this museum dedicated to woodwork and local heritage is a sculpture of a horse towing wooden logs. Here you can learn all about woodcutting techniques from the days of pit sawyers up until the machine age, as demonstrated by a working saw powered by a steam-powered machine dating back to 1896. You can also explore several artisans' workshops devoted to joinery as well as clog, wheel and basket making. Note also the impressive collection of wooden toys, some of which can be manipulated, plus the wooden sculptures dotted around the grounds.
