Domme
The Essential
Recommended
Domme, whose streets snake downwards to the south, and perched on a cliff 150m/492ft-high overlooking the Dordogne valley to the north, is sometimes dubbed the "Périgord Acropolis", and is unlike the other regional fortified bastide towns. It is very probably one of the most pleasant with its exceptional site and narrow streets, rich in the sweet scent of roses in spring.
