On the limits of the Périgord and Guyenne regions, this fortified bastide town was founded in the 13C by Alphonse de Poitiers, brother of Louis IX. Its round-tiled houses are clustered together on a hill. Don't hesitate to take a stroll along the carrétots, narrow little streets sometimes spanned by small bridges that form covered passages. Monflanquin is rightly counted among the "Plus Beaux Villages de France".
