Aurillac's Museum of Art and Archaeology

Interesting
Before becoming a museum, the convent was transformed into a national stud farm after the Revolution. The museum charts the life and living conditions in Cantal and the region's archaeology (remarkable collection of Palaeolithic double-sided flints). The second floor is dedicated to 17-19C art (Nattier, Vernet, Couture), sculpture (Rodin by Camille Claudel and Victor Hugo by Rodin) and modern and contemporary photography.
