Méandre de Queuille

Hewn into the fractured rocks of this granite plateau, the Méandre de Queuille is sculpted by the Sioule river, which is widened at this point by a dam. The concave bank of the loop is high and studded with rocks; on the convex bank opposite, the river hugs the Murat "peninsula", a long wooded strip of land. Downstream from the meander, note the Queuille Dam (to return to the promontory, head through the undergrowth behind the chevet of the church).
