Library of Avranches - Museum of the Manuscripts of Mont-St-Michel

This museum devoted to the conservation of the manuscripts of Mont-St-Michel showcases, by way of a modern museum layout (friezes, interactive terminals), the stages behind the manufacture of medieval manuscripts, and the tools and materials used. It also displays original works (Plato's Timaeus and 9C fragments of Cicero's Orator), masterpieces that bear witness to the spiritual, intellectual and artistic heritage of the Benedictines and through them, the medieval world.
