Finistère is a force of nature! The spectacle of its untamed coast, notched with estuaries or abers, and dotted with old towns is a marvel to behold. There is plenty to get your teeth into if you love coastal paths, but before hurrying to this "end of the earth" be sure to stop off in the parish closes (enclos paroissiaux), masterpieces of Brittany's religious architecture.
Then head for Brest and its majestic harbour, before resuming your voyage towards the Monts d'Arrée, mountains covered with misty moors.
Next, make for South Finistère: Cornouaille, dominated by the spires of Quimper Cathedral; the dizzying headland that is Pointe du Raz; the "Riviera Bretonne" with its little creeks and white sandy beaches... In Finistère you will be spoilt for choice!
