The Fishing Museum
Situated in the former naval dockyard, this museum clearly shows the evolution of fishing which goes from old traditional styles of fishing to the most modern techniques. Models, reconstructions and small boats represent different traditional and modern fishing methods (whales, cod, tuna, sardine, herrings etc). Visitors can also see the 1984 Commandant Garreau lifeboat or climb inside the Hémérica (a trawler laid up in 1981) and imagine the life-size binnacle used by the fishermen.
