Musée des Beaux-Arts de Quimper
Housed in an Italianate palace (1867) opposite the cathedral, the museum displays a collection of paintings from the 14C to the present day, including the schools of Northern Europe (Rubens), Italy, and France (Corot, Boudin). Several rooms are dedicated to regional works (paintings and sculptures, 47m-long fresco by Lemordant), and one is devoted to Max Jacob, who was born and raised in Quimper. Be sure to see the museum's highlight: 30 paintings of the Pont-Aven School (Gauguin, Sérusier, Vallotton).
