Île aux Moines
This former monastic fiefdom is the largest and most heavily populated island in the Gulf of Morhiban. It's a quiet little seaside resort with a wide variety of flora: mimosa, camellias, palms, orange and lemon trees. From the port of Lerio it's a short distance to the pretty little streets of the market town of Locmiquel. At the north of the island you will find the Pointe de Trech (an odd wayside cross on a large plinth) looking out over the Pointe d'Arradon and the bay; to the south, the portal tombs of Boglieux and Penhap; to the east, the Pointe de Brouhel, from which the view extends over the Île d'Arz.
