When to go
Choose the middle of summer to disembark on the Morbihan coast, which at this time of year bears a certain resemblance to the Côte d'Azur. Busy beaches, mild temperatures, a welcoming sea… the perfect formula for unwinding, or for celebrating with the party-goers during Lorient's famous Inter-Celtic Festival, in August. In May, the Semaine du Golfe du Morbihan, with hundreds of boats, also draws large numbers of visitors.
If you want to get away from the throngs, stroll or cycle along the Nantes-Brest Canal in spring or in the late autumn. And if the frequent rains cool you down too much, take the opportunity to delve into the département's rich heritage.
