Château de Josselin

Next to the River Oust, this castle has the appearance of a fortress thanks to its towers and machicolations. The windows and dormer windows high up in the walls are part of the palace built in the 16C by Jean II. Today, all that remains of the original castle, which was built on a terrace, are the foundations of the walls, with the exception of the section visible from Ste-Croix Bridge. From here, you can take in the façade of the main building, whose granite sculptures are unique in Brittany. Only the ground floor, restored in the 19C, is open to visitors.
