Château de Bouges

This elegant abode, tucked away in the countryside, comes as something of a surprise. In 1759, Count de Marnaval began building the Italianate residence, which was subsequently owned by Talleyrand. Its impressive banquet hall and trompe l'oeil decoration, landscaped grounds (80ha/200 acres), immaculate formal garden, fine antiques and gracious architecture transport visitors back to the 18C.
