Modern Art Museum - Troyes Bishop's Palace

Recommended
This museum, created thanks to a donation from the Troyes industrialists, Pierre and Denise Lévy, occupies the town's former bishops' palace. The collection includes 388 paintings (many fauves by the likes of Derain, Vlaminck and Van Dongen), 1 277 drawings and 104 sculptures. Some of the most recent works on display are by La Fresnaye, Modigliani, Soutine, Buffet, De Staël and Balthus. It also features a large collection by the Troyes artist Maurice Marinot, a painter who later became a glass-maker working in the Art-Deco style, and an exhibition of African art.
