Ste-Madeleine's Church of Troyes
The oldest church in Troyes (12C) was modified significantly in the 16C. It boasts a remarkable stone chevet built in Flamboyant style, large, brightly coloured Renaissance stained-glass windows, and a beautiful statue of St Martha, highly representative of the Troyes school in the 16C. On leaving the church, note the Flamboyant doorway which was part of the old charnel house (1525) and is decorated with François I's salamander emblem and "F" monogram.
