Church of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux

Recommended
This old collegiate church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was begun in the Romanesque style around 1150, but the vaults, the chancel and the chevet are early Gothic (late 12C-early 13C). The austere façade, mirrored in the waters of the Canal du Mau, looks particularly impressive. The nave is lit by a harmonious series of stained-glass windows typical of the Champagne region (the finest, decorating the north aisle, are from the 16C).
