This promontory of black granite, enclosing Ajaccio bay in the north, is topped by the Parata tower, built by the Genoese to protect the islands from barbarian attacks. At the edge of the headland (reached via an easily accessible footpath) you will be greeted by a close-up view of the Sanguinaires islands. You can also climb up to the Genoese tower via a steep footpath.
