Arènes de Lutèce

Interesting
The Arènes de Lutèce, a 2C Gallo-Roman monument thought to have been abandoned in the early 4C, was only discovered when rue Monge was created in 1869. In 1915-16, architect Jules Formigé rebuilt the amphitheatre more than he restored it. Part of the seating, the stage and the layout of the dressing rooms are still visible. Nowadays, boules competitions and drama performances are held here.
