French National Library, François-Mitterrand site

Interesting
The National Library in rue de Richelieu (or the "BN" as it was affectionately known) had become too small and so it was decided to transfer the printed books and periodicals to this site designed by Dominique Perrault. The 80m/262ft-high glass towers symbolise open books. The reading-rooms, accessible across a vast rectangular esplanade covered in ipecac wood, surround a "forest" of Scotch pine.
