Île-de-France Museum of Prehistory

The museum occupies a resolutely modern building sited in one of the regions of the Île-de-France richest in prehistoric sites and megalithic monuments. It covers the Paleolithic to the Neolithic and Bronze and Iron Ages. It also has an exceptional Carolingian boat dated to the year 834. Archaeological techniques are explained too. The puits de nature in the surrounding woodland give a flavour of the landscapes lived in by our ancestors.
