Hameau de la Reine

Recommended
The "Queen's Hamlet", designed by Marie-Antoinette's architect Richard Mique, consists of a dozen thatched and plain-tiled cottages that overlook a lake. A watermill also graces the site, complete with its vane wheel, while in the centre, the Queen's Cottage is flanked by a spiral staircase. Farm animals, always popular with children, are kept on the outskirts of the hamlet. Not far from the Temple de l'Amour lies the Bosquet des États-Unis, in which 50 trees symbolise the American States.
