Le Bourget
The Essential
Le Bourget is known for its airport, which was created in 1914 for military purposes and was Paris' main commercial airport until the Second World War. The old terminal, a jewel of Art Deco architecture and now home to the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, was first used by passengers in 1919. Since the creation of Charles-de-Gaulle airport at Roissy in 1973, Le Bourget has been used mainly for private aircraft and business flights.
