Poissy
The Essential
Poissy's castle, an old royal residence where Saint Louis was born, has disappeared, as has the livestock market which supplied Paris with food as early as the Middle Ages. However, the collegiate church has survived and is a fine example of the town's medieval past. More recent is the famous Savoye villa, a masterpiece of modern architecture, which was built in the 1920s by Corbusier. Nowadays, the automobile industry plays an important role in the local economy.
