Narbonne, capital of Narbonne Gaul a former archiepiscopal town and one-time residence of the Visigoth kings of Septimania, is today a bustling Languedoc town, steeped in the charm of southern France. The birthplace of Charles Trénet is proud of its architectural heritage, both civil, military and religious and boasts some remarkable collections of Roman art. Best of all, it is a town where you can step out of the rat race for a time, and wander along the Robine canal.
