Constructed on either side of a channel linking the lagoon to the Mediterranean, this resort boasts 18km of fine sandy beaches. Until the mid-19C, this was a humble fishing community of largely Italian origin who lived in modest shacks. The arrival of the railway saw the opening of the beach at Nîmois. Marinas here and at Port-Camargue allow sailing enthusiasts direct access to their boats. Don't miss the Seaquarium for an insight into life below the waves.
