Limousin

Limousin
The Essential

Far from the madding crowd, Limousin is the kingdom of "green holidays". A thousand torrents cascade towards the Dordogne River or Loire River, irrigating pastures grazed by red cows, bocages with sunken lanes and forests of oak or beech.
In Corrèze, the southernmost département in the region, fill your lungs in the Parc Natural de Millevaches, step back in time in charming old towns such as Uzerche and Collonges-la-Rouge, attend a rugby match in Brive, the region's rugby capital, or visit the interesting Musée du Président Jacques-Chirac, in Sarran.
As for Creuse, it extends an invitation to visitors to follow in Claude Monet's footsteps in the Valley of the Painters, to a family stay on the shores of the lake, Lac de Vassivière, or to learn about the art of tapestry-weaving in Aubusson.
Finally, in Haute-Vienne, climb up Mont Gargan, pay homage to the martyr village of Oradour-sur-Glane and familiarise yourself with Limoges porcelain, a university town that is full of life and the gateway to the Parc Natural Regional du Périgord-Limousin.
You get the picture: in Limousin, the hardest thing is going to be to choose!
