The Essential
Interesting
On the border between the ancient Arvernes and Lémovices territories, Bort developed in the Middle Ages and was granted the right to build ramparts, some of which remain, by Charles VII. The small town is famous for its volcanic organ columns and a dam, which is a popular angling and water sports spot. Bort is ideally located to explore the lakes, green banks and wall-steeple churches of Sumène Artense.
