Bar-le-Duc Regional Museum

Occupying the fine buildings of the former Cour des Comptes (1523) and new castle (1567), this museum displays archaeologicalcollections from the region (from the Bronze Age to the Merovingian period), such as the Gallo-Roman statue of the mother goddess of Naix-aux-Forges and Merovingian jewellery discovered in Gondrecourt metropolis. Other exhibits include French and Flemish paintings and works from the Middle Ages and Renaissance (Pierre of Milan, Gérard Richier etc) which are on display under the ribbed vaults of the Salle du Trésor.
