Parc du Haut Fourneau U4, Uckange

The imposing U4 blast furnace at Uckange is the last of six blast furnaces which existed at this factory built by the Stumm brothers in 1890. From April to November, artist Claude Lévêque pays tribute to this symbol of the Lorraine's industrial heritage with a light installation which turns the furnace red as though the chimneys and pipes were about to catch fire. At the foot of the furnace, 4ha of landscaped gardens known as the Jardin des Traces have been laid out on the former site of the factory.
