It was in the humble village of Domrémy-la-Pucelle on the Meuse that Joan of Arc was born on 6 January 1412. She is said to have had visions and heard voices ordering her to save France. The church, built around the time of Joan's birth, was transformed in the 15C and extended in 1825. Her birthplace is movingly simple. Behind, the "Visages de Jeanne" Centre charts her life, evoking popular legends and immersing the visitor in the medieval era.
