Aveyron

Aveyron
The Essential
A succession of grandiose natural sites, villages that are designated among the most beautiful in France, and medieval cities with plenty to tempt the taste buds. So much for what lies in store during your stay in Aveyron!
In every corner of the département, be it in the Gorges de l'Aveyron et du Tarn, on the wild plateaux of the Causse du Larzac and Aubrac, or in the Lot Valley, there is ample opportunity to explore a territory that is magnificent, wild and often sparsely inhabited. Stop off in Conques or Najac to take a look around some superb local heritage sites.
Round your trip off with two major hotspots showcasing feats of human endeavour: the dizzyingly high Millau Viaduct and Rodez's museum, the Musée Soulages, which pays tribute to Pierre Soulages, one of the region's own and master of the thick black brushstrokes labelled "Outrenoir".
