Abandoned hamlets, isolated villages and a landscape that gives visitors the impression of being at the end of the world... 1 300m up on the vast basalt plateau of the same name, Aubrac is a fresh and sunny little summer resort. It lies in a region of pastureland, and in summer herds of cattle are put out to graze: mostly Aubrac cows, which have a beautiful tawny coat. In winter, the gentle slopes are popular with cross-country skiers.
