The fortified village of Loubressac, perched on a rocky peak, surveys one of the most pleasing landscapes of the Dordogne, embracing the Bave valley, St-Céré, the castles of Castelnau and Montal, and the foothills of the Massif Central. Stroll along its narrow winding streets lined by brown-tiled roof houses to the postern gate of the château. The 15-17C manor (closed to the public) occupies a remarkable site at the end of the rocky outcrop. The fortified gate and the guardhouse are also worthy of note.
