Fine Arts Museum of Valenciennes

Interesting
Here, the central figure is of course Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, whose work is spotlighted in a large space. However, the Flemish, represented by the enigmatic Jerôme Bosch, as well as Van Leyden, Van Reymerswaele, Jan Mandyn and Rubens, are not to be missed. French painting of the 18C showcases the two Watteau canvases. History and landscape painters illustrate the 19C, before you come to the archaeological crypt.
