Cathedral Notre-Dame of St-Omer

Recommended
Located in the heart of the quiet chaplains' quarter, formerly known as the "Notre Dame cloister", this cathedral is remarkable for its grandeur and sheer scale. It contains numerous works of art: a cenotaph, mausoleum, funerary stones and astronomical clock, the mechanism of which dates from 1558. Note, as in St Bertin abbey church, the maze marked out in the middle of the chancel. This miniature pilgrimage route was known as the Jerusalem Mile.
