Bâteau-Lavoirs

Two wash-boats remain, one of which is moored to Quai Paul-Boudet. These stationary vessels were used from 1880 to 1960 by housewives to beat their washing on the planks that surrounded them; the huge tanks made it possible to boil and wring the washing.
