La Rochelle Maritime Museum

Interesting
This site divided into two parts along the Chalutiers Basin recounts the maritime history and life of La Rochelle. The floating museum is home to ships of all sizes from the ketch Joshua on which Bernard Moitissier participated in the first round-the-world solo yacht race in 1968 to the meteorological frigate France I which was in service until 1985. The Quayside Museum in the old Encan buildings houses exhibits relating to fishing and the sea.
