This charming village of St-Pierre-d'Oléron is Charente-Maritime's premier fishing harbour and in the top six nationally. Near to 100 trawlers are moored at La Cotinière, bringing back shrimp, as well as cuttlefish, maigre fish, wedge sole, prawns, sole, monkfish and ray. The fish auction when the boats return is ideal for getting a first-hand idea of the world of the fishermen. See a fish dish being prepared by a chef at the end of the tour.
