Cordeliers Chapel

André Thevet, a monk in the Cordeliers Convent, brought back tobacco from Brazil in 1556 and named it the ''Angoulême herb''. The chapel has a Gothic bell tower. The Angoulême moralist Guez de Balzac was buried here in 1654.
