The Essential
Interesting
The Tarasque monster, and then the highly amusing Tartarin, the farcical braggard created by the pen of Alphonse Daudet, have made Tarascon famous. However, this Provençal town has also inherited a rich history, as witnessed by its imposing castle overlooking the waters of the Rhone. The town has preserved its old quarter of streets lined by arcades and pale-stone houses, and is also home to the headquarters of Souleiado, a leading name in Provençal printed fabrics.
