Citadelle de Sisteron
The keep and the rampart walk date from the 12C. The fortifications, built by Jean Errard, Henri IV's engineer, were reinforced by Vauban. During the visit you will see model handcarts. There are two views: from the terrace is a bird's eye view of the lower town and the lake formed by the dam. You also have an impressive view over the Rocher de la Baume (from the so-called Devil's Sentry Box). The chapel has beautiful stained-glass windows by the master glassworker Claude Courageux. The museum relates Napoleon's return from the island of Elbe.
