Quyras Regional Nature Park
The Queyras is an isolated hinterland. A geographical, historical and cultural entity, it became a protected park in 1977. Its villages such as st-Veran are among Europe's highest (average altitude here is 2 200m), and its charm combines vast space with a timeless way of life. Dominated by Mount Viso (3 841m) the region has many fine sites: the Combe du Queyras, the Grand Belvédère, the Pain de Sucre, the Aigue Agnelle Valley and the route de Saint-Véran. Its small ski resorts have excellent winter snow.
